BlackArts Racing Announces European Expansion

Leading Asian motorsport team BlackArts Racing will make its foray into Formula Renault Northern European Cup in 2018 with a two-car effort, via a new base of operations at England’s famous Silverstone Circuit. The move signals the team’s expansion into the highly competitive European racing arena, starting with Formula Renault NEC and with additional European series in the future.

The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup is commonly regarded as an important stepping stone on the path for future racing professionals, having hosted distinguished talents in the past such as F1 drivers Valtteri Bottas, Carlos Sainz, Daniil Kvyat and Lando Norris.

With the European expansion, BAR intends to capitalize on its stellar success in the Asian Formula Renault Championship – the team was running up to 9 cars per weekend in 2017, where it took its third straight Drivers and Teams Championship in the series. BAR is also currently leading the drivers and team’s championships in its first year in FIA Chinese Formula 4 Championship.

It is the team’s intention to use its new UK base to create a complete Driver Development pathway from the Asia Pacific to the highly competitive European racing scene. Thus, BAR will offer a complete ladder system of driver development by offering a full career pathway from junior series in Asia all the way to professional European series.
